Traditionally, business clothing is meant to a dark suit and a tie coupled with clean white shirt. It’s unspoken or what we say ‘thumb rule’ and the person wearing these is easily labeled as businessman or professional. Despite of some changes in its very soul, over the period, suit is not about standard office attire (what it used to be earlier) and still is believed and beloved as the best bet in business clothing.
For a couple of more reasons, business suit is most demanded stuff in anyone’s wardrobe. It’s very common to have a pair or two of two or three piece suit. What makes it imperative to have an exclusive array of business suit is that you do not wear suit only at work place of four walls and a roof.
You wish to appear handsome in different business-related jamborees, usually at different places than your office. You go to conferences, you attend business meetings with clients and above all you don’t want to miss business-related social functions. As first in - best dressed get advantage; it’s but natural to dress in arresting business attire.
Obviously, a suit with bright colored plaids on it won’t be a business wear. Get a tee-total suit, preferably a solid one, either of navy, black, brown, gray color. For a change having suit with pinstripes is also all right. Wear it with an open-collar dress shirt but not a cotton one. Most of all, a good-quality fabric is as important as the color of suit. Therefore, don’t look at business suit as another outlay where you can apply your management theories of financial prudence, rather it’s a lifelong investment you are going to get interest on.
Regardless of everything your comfort is most important here. At a time you may break rules, after all they are made to break, but can’t work at ease with outfits that are not of your fit.
